Halo-Halo (Mix-Mix) - Halo-Halo is a Philippine dessert specialty perfect for tropical climate (and cold climate ). Literally meaning "Mix-Mix" and dubbed by most Filipinos as the "Queen of Desserts," it
is a blend of fruits and sweet preserves (i.e. sweet palm fruit, shredded coconut, jackfruit, red and white beans, coconut
gelatin, sweet corn, leche flan and purple yam) with shaved ice and evaporated milk and a scoop of ice cream (Mango or Ube
Ice Cream) on top. To eat Halo-halo,
make sure to halo (mix) thoroughly before digging in. Mixing all the ingredients at the bottom without spilling the
ice and ice cream off the glass is a skill that can only be honed by regular indulgence!
